Vikram's next project 'Majaa' launched today

"Majaa", yet another mega movie featuring Vikram as the hero, was launched today with great fanfare. It is the remake of the Malayalam hit movie "Thommanum Makkallum" starring Mammootty and Laya in the lead.

Malayalam director Shaffi who directed "Thommanum…" is directing the Tamil version also.

Rockline Venkatesh (RV), well-known producer in the Kannada film industry is producing this movie under the banner Rockline Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. Producer of more than 25 Kannada films, RV produced his first Tamil film "Dhum" with Simbu-Rakshita as lead pair. However the film bombed in the box office. "Majaa" is his second venture in Tamil.

Vidhyasagar is scoring the music and cinematographer Balasubramanian is standing behind the lens.

Along with Vikram other ensemble of casts include Asin, Pasupathy, Vadivelu, Manivannan, and Vijay Kumar.

The moviemakers have tried to drive the point that "Majaa" will be a totally different offering even through their novel invitation for the movie's mahurat. It has been designed so attractively as a 17 page booklet depicting stills from films starred by Vikram, and with signatures of leading film industry personalities wishing good luck inscribed on it.

What with news pouring in about phenomenal patronage for "Anniyan" in the very first day of its release today, "Majaa" is already touted to create yet another set of waves when the film is released for Diwali this year.
