Even as legendary Sivaji Ganesan’s ‘Karnan’ is still drawing crowds after it was re-released in 3D format more than 100 days ago, another Nadigar Thilagam’s Tamil version of the Telugu hit of the late1980s titled ‘Vishwanatha Nayakudu’ will hit the screens soon. Dasari Narayana Rao had directed the film.
Producer Prasad has bought the Tamil rights and is releasing it with the title ‘Nagama Nayakar’.
According to Prasad, the makers had planned for a simultaneous release of the film in th Telugu and Tamil and got Sivaji to dub for himself for the Tamil version. But the Tamil version could not be released at that time for some reasons.
Sivaji Ganesan had played the role of Nagama Nayakar, father of Vishwanatha Nayakar who was Krishnadevaraya’s prominent courtier.
This was Sivaji’s last Telugu film. Fans would be delighted to hear the icon’s thundering voice once again in ‘Nagama Nayakar’.
Prasad said they have ‘colour-corrected’ the film after restoration and digitally enhanced it.
