Simbu sings for 'Nee Naan Nila'
Mar 17, 2007 PVSDoes "Nee Naan Nila" sound strange? It is the title of a forthcoming film directed by M.P.S. Sivakumar, an assistant to director Bharathi and produced by R. Vishwanathan of Bharathan Films.
College campus is the scene of action in the film. With two heroes and one heroine, one is right in guessing that it must be a love triangle. The first half of the film will be on the expected lines, but the second half will take a turn which will be totally unexpected and will spring a surprise on the audience, according to the director.
Bharathan and 'London' Ravi are cast as heroes and "Miss Gujarat" Meghna is the heroine. Manivannan plays a character role. Karunas, Muthukalai, Venniraiaadai Murthy and Ankovila constitute the comedy track.
N.R.K. Rajendran is the cinematographer. The lyrics are by P. Vijay, NaMuthukumar, Snegan and M.G. Kanniappan. M. Chandru has written the dialogues.
The music is scored by Dina who has earned a name for rollicking tunes. While looking for a young voice to sing a "kuthu ' duet , the name of Simbu came to the director's mind. He invited Simbu and the obliging young actor sang the song with ease, spending hardly half an hour in the recording studio. The female voice was lent by Malathi for this song which the film-makers expect to rank among the super-hits of the year.
The climax scenes were shot at the same train accident spot that figured in Kamal Haasan-starrer 'Anbe Sivam'. A train was hired for three days for the shooting.
