Shooting of next Vijay-starrer begins

The shooting of actor Vijay's next film 'Azhagia Tamizh Magan' has started and is in progressing. This movie is produced by Appachan of Swargachitra, who earlier presented "Friends" starring Vijay nearly six years ago.

Shriya pairs with Vijay in the lead role and Namitha does a cameo. This is the first time Namitha is appearing with Vijay. A.R. Rahman is scoring the music. It is a long time since Rahman has composed the music for a Vijay-starrer.

Bharathan, who wrote the dialogues for 'Gilli', has written the story, dialogue and screenplay for 'Azhagia Thamizh Magan'. He is also directing the film. Bharathan is a regular dialogue writer for director Dharani's films.

Also associated with the making of the new film are Balasubramaniam (Cinematography), S.K. Jeeva, FEFSI Vijayan (action director). Antony, Maniraj, J.P. Chitrarasu, P.T. Selvakumar and Raju.

Pooja was performed on Jan.24 marking the launch of the shoot. The function was attended among others Dhanarani, A.M. Ratnam, directors S.A. Chandrasekharan, Perarasu, Jayam Raja, Ramana and actor Jayam Ravi.

Vijay has been vacationing in New York after the release of 'Pokiri' on Pongal Day, is expected to return to Chennai at the end of this month and join the shooting.

The storyline of the new movie is yet to be revealed. According to sources close to the director said "Azhagia Tamizh Magan" is different from earlier Vijay flicks. He plays a negative role and is a villain to himself.

The film is expected to be ready in 100 days and scheduled to be released on Aug.15.
