Shankar's 'Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi' is all set for release

Veteran Shankar's much awaited comical film 'Imsai Arasan 23 rd Pulikesi' is all set for release on July 8. Directed by debutant Simbhudevan, comedian Vadivelu plays the lead role. Featured with him are Monica, Nanditha and Tejashree. The music was scored by Sabesh Murali and lyrics by Pulamai Pithan.

The producer, Shankar, and the director submitted before the High Court last Monday that the Animal Welfare Board of India had provided the required clearance for the movie. Following this, the court closed the case as withdrawn

The film which was originally slated for release on May 19 could not be released as the Regional Censor Board had not cleared it on the ground that the producer had used several horses and other animals in the film without obtaining prior permission from the Animal Welfare Board of India.

As the producer has spent a huge amount of money to make the film and as the controversy raged delaying the release of the film, the director and producer decided to move the High Court which now cleared the decks with the Animal Welfare Board of India relenting and giving its clearance.
