June 3 (IANS) Arvind Swamy, who shot to fame after working in Mani Ratnam'd "Roja" and "Bombay", has filed for divorce from his wife Gayatri.
The petition was taken up for hearing by Judge Ramalingam in the Family Court in Chennai. The judge has asked the couple to stay apart till the next hearing which is scheduled for Dec 1.
Arvind had filed a complaint earlier, but he filed another petition June 1 with mutual consent with his wife citing marital disharmony. The earlier petition for divorce filed individually by Arvind is still pending in the court.
Arvind, who married Gayatri in 1994, developed serious differences with her two years back.
Four years ago, Gayatri had filed for divorce citing marital incompatibility. At that time, Arvind challenged Gayatri's request for the custody of their two children - son Rudra and daughter Adira.
Later Gayatri withdrew her divorce petition.
