Richa cast in Venkat Prabhu's 'Biriyani'

Richa Gangopadyaya will pair up with Karthi in director Venkat Prabhu’s next film ‘Biriyani’, it is learnt.

Several names, including Samantha, Ileana and Parineeti Chopra were considered for the lead role and Venkat Prabhu finally zeroed in on Richa. However, formalities are yet to be completed.

The film will be a suspense thriller spiked with humour.

On her being made a part of Venkat Prabhu’s venture, Richa reportedly commented: “Patience is a virtue and I am glad the wait has been worth it. I play atypical girl in it; someone who’s mischievous and not so innocent. My character is totally involved with the plot.”

Richa was in the reckoning for Venkat Prabhu’s previous film, Ajith-starrer ‘Manktha’ but she could not make it.

‘Biriyani’ is likely to go on floors by July 14. The pre-production work is almost over. Yuvan Shankar Raja has started working on the tunes. Richa will join the team in the first week of next month.
