Prakash rules Tamil sound waves

Chennai, July 24 (IANS) G.V. Prakash, nephew of composer A.R. Rahman, has displaced his illustrious uncle with his new album "Kireedam".

The top five Tamil albums are:

1. "Kireedam" - Music Director: G.V. Prakash. The album is one of its kind. "Kanavellam" sung by Jayachandran and Karthik and "Akkam pakkam" by Sadhana Sargam are the best songs of the album.

2. "Sathum Podaathay" - Music Director: Yuvan Shankar Raja. This new album from Yuvan is worth buying. He brings together all the best singers including Shankar Mahadevan, Shreya Ghosal and the legendary Sudha Raghunathan.

3. "Sivaji" - Music Director: A.R. Rahman. "Athiradee" and "Vaaji vaaji" continue to rock even after over a month.

4. "Unnale Unnale" - Music Director: Harris Jayaraj. This excellent album is aimed at the gen next.

5. "Chennai 600028" - Music Director: Yuvan Shankar Raja. The album is Yuvan's tribute to the spirit of youth.
