Film-maker Gautham Vasudev Menon's Tamil film "Pachchai Kili Muthu Charam" is releasing on Feb.16, it is officially announced. This is his fourth film after three successive hits.

The film was cleared by the censors on Feb. 6 and given "A" certificate. The release has been delayed because its producer Ravichandran of Oscar Films was keen that there should at least be a week-long pre-release publicity campaign. Moreover, the law and order situation in Karnataka following the final verdict on the Cauvery waters dispute was also taken into consideration before finalizing the date of release.

"Pachchai Kili Muthu Charam" is an emotional family drama-cum-thriller in which a man commits a small mistake which ruins him.

Sarath Kumar, Jyothika along with theater artiste and great singer Andrea Jeremiah are in the lead. Sarath plays the role of a married man. Andrea Jeremiah plays Sarath's wife. Sarath's life takes a turn when he meets Jyothika when they are working as employees. Jyothika dons the role of a mature housewife. Mumbai model Milind Suman plays the villain.

"Pachchai Kili Muthucharam" (originally named 'Silandhi') was a hit song in MGR's "Ulagam Suttrum Valiban". The name 'Silandhi' has been changed for sentimental reasons, according to Gautham. .

The music is by Harris Jayaraj, who has been Gautham's lucky mascot. Cinematographer Arvind Krishna has teamed up with Gautham for the first time in this film. Most of the film has been shot in Hyderabad. Songs have been shot in Kerala's scenic spots.

Shot in Super 35mm, the film is expected to be a grosser like Gautham's earlier hits "Kakka Kakka" and "Vettaiyadu Vilaiyadu".

His interview to a leading English daily (Feb.9) gives further insight into "Pachchai Kili .."

He denied that it is on the lines of the Vincent Cassel-Jennifer Aniston-Clive Owen thriller, 'Derailed'. The inspiration is from James Siegel's book , otherwise it is entirely his.

Describing "Pachchai Kili.." as an emotional drama, he says it does not call for the technical glitz of 'Kakka Kakka' or 'Vettaiyadu Vilaiyadu'. "This is a Quentin Tarantino kind of film."

About Arvind Krishna, Gautham says he prefers working with different cameramen. "Pachchai Kili.." needed static shots and the like in the P.C. Sreeram, Balumahendra mould.

On the cast, he would rank Andrea on a par with the likes of Mariah Carey. "Andrea makes Sarath look younger". And, Jyothika has come out with a "fabulous show".
