Nayan or Shriya for Simbu?

Even as the shooting of 'Osthi', the Tamil remake of the Hindi blockbuster 'Dabangg', is in full swing near Mysore, Kollywood grapevine has it that the unit is still searching for a 'Munni' for the hotshot item number.

However, when asked Simbu who reprises Salman's role in the Tamil version, he said, "That song has not even been composed! How could we have finalized the actress?". The industry was abuzz that Shriya Saran was the choice for the number, a rumour which both Simbu and director Dharani refused to reveal. Earlier, the grapevine had it that Nayanthara was approached for the sexy item number.

Though three songs have been composed for 'Vosthi', the Tamil equivalent of 'Munni' is not one of them. "We're now concentrating on the talkie portions which we plan to finish by the first week of August," said Simbu, adding, "In fact, currently, we're shooting some difficult action sequences including scenes that feature me jumping from one building to another. Unlike the Hindi version, which used sets for these sequences, we're shooting on real buildings and that's been quite a challenge."

The actor, who has also penned the lyrics of one of the already-composed songs, says,''they'll ensure that they come out with a number as rocking as the Hindi number.
