More digital studios needed: Balu Mahendra

A new digital studio named ‘VFX’ has been opened in Chennai. Director Balu Mahendra inaugurated it under the presidentship of Director Venkat Prabhu.

The studio has state-of-the-art technology for computer graphics, visual effects, DI, etc.

Balu Mahendra, speaking at the function, said the use of digital in films has become unavoidable. Present day directors are making the best use of digital technology. So, more digital studios are needed. There are only four or five studies in Chennai, he pointed out and stressed that the number should be increased.

VFX executive director Dinesh welcomed the gathering. Directors Kannan and Peter proposed a vote of thanks.
