May 11, 2012 PGV

Director Lingusamy has appealed to the State Government to consider tax exemption for Vazhakku En 18/9 which was released last Friday. The censors have given it U/A certificate. Films with U certificates alone are eligible for tax exemption.

Vazhakku En 18/9 has been directed by Balaji Sakthivel and produced by Lingusamy’s brother N. Subhas Chandra Bose and Roni Screwala.

Members of the film unit had an interacation with mediapersons. Lingusamy said Vazhakku En 18/9 has been given U/A certificate, which does not make it qualify for tax exemption. The film has received rave reviews and been acclaimed by all sections of the people, Lingusamy said and pleaded with the Government to consider granting the tax benefit to the film.

He told the mediapersons that he and Balaji Sakthivel have been friends for 18 years. The first friend he met when he came to Chennai was Balaji. It is Balaji who taught him what world cinema is. "Vazhakku En 18/9 is a film which gave them full satisfaction and confidence. We have decided to make more of such quality films," Lingusamy said.
