Kamal, Rajni attend Chennai – 600028 celebrations

A colorful function marked the celebration of the 100-day run of"Chennai-600 028" at the Trade Centre, Nandambakkam, Chennai. Leading stars Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth were among many celebrities who attended the function.

It is an off-beat movie featuring all new faces, directed by music director Gangai Ameran's son Venkat Prabhu and singer S.P. Balasubramaiam's son S.B. Charan. Gilly cricket is the common object of interest for two rival teams whose passion for the sport forms the basis of the story.

Addressing the gathering, Kamal Haasan said it was "Chennai-600 028" which revived his interest in cricket. Pointing to Gangai Ameran and SPB, Kamal said the success of the movie should make them happy, and they should aim for another success.

Speaking last, Rajinikanth said he was happy that he and his "friend" Kamal Haasan could participate in the function which had been organized by "friends" coinciding with "Friendship Day". Friends are more important in life than wives, he emphasized and added the friendship which "Chennai-600 028" forged among those who came together to produce it should endure.

Kamal and Rajini were given a thunderous ovation when they arrived at the venue after keeping the audience guessing for a while. Select artistes received mementoes from Sibi, Dhanush, Jayam Ravi, Karthi and Vasantha Kumar, MLA. Venkat Prabhu and Charan also spoke. The audience was entertained to dance and music program.
