Jackie Shroff latest addition to 'Kochadaiyaan' cast

Bollywood star Jackie Shroff joining the 'Kochadaiyaan' cast will further boost the prospects of the 3D motion picture featuring Rajinikanth. Katrina Kaif playing the female lead in the film is still in the realm of speculation in the absence of any official word so far..

Otherwise, the main cast has been finalized.

A versatile actor, Jackie Shroff is not new to Tamil cinema. His last Tamil film 'Aranya Kaandam' which brought him plaudits for his scintillating performance.

'He is playing an important role in 'Kochadaiyaan', director Soundarya Ashwin Rajinikanth confirms, saying he was in Chennai a couple of days ago when they started production work with him.

Jackie and Rajinikanth acted together in the Hindi flick 'Uttar Dakshin'. Being a close friend, the superstar attended the wedding of Jackie Shroff in Mumbai.

While Katrina Kaif is supposed to play the heroine in 'Kochadaiyaan', leading actress and Bharatanatyam danseuse Shobana has been roped in by Soundarya to play an important role. The cast includes Sarath Kumar, Aadhi, and Nasser.

The project is increasingly getting hyped with big names, like A.R. Rahman, being projected. One report said lyricist Vairamuthu recently tweeted that Rajini had told him the story of the film and it seemed like "an Aayirathil Oruvan for MGR and a Kochadaiyaan for Rajinikanth."
