'Imsai Arasan' to be dubbed in Telugu
Sep 30, 2006 PVSThis blockbuster proved a turning point in the career of comedian Vadivelu who played the role of Pulikesi, the central character. It was produced by director Shankar's S Films and directed by cartoonist-turned-writer director Simbudevan.
Though there was a big demand for the remake rights of the film, it was finally decided that it would be easy to dub it in Telugu. Choudary proposes to make appropriate changes in the dialogues for viewing in Andhra Pradesh.
Shankar's "Kaadhal" was dubbed in Telugu as "Premisthe" which was a runaway success. Shankar's films have always enjoyed a good market in Andhra.
'Imsai Arasan" is a period film that blends fact and fiction with immense skill and sensitivity. What makes the movie tick is the combination of clever direction, terrific story narration, and out-of-the box storyline combing comedy, action, adventure and deceit Vadivelu, the central character in the movie, gives a cracking performance in his dual role as a dumb wit and as a liberator. The film has established him as a leading comical hero like yesteryear comedian, Nagesh.
Simbudevan even in his debut venture has proved his directorial prowess. He has cleverly used humor to convey the social maladies in the country. The ace director Shankar, the producer of the film, deserves all the credit for having given an opportunity to Simbudean's crew to bring out this unusual hilarious fable which took the box office by storm.
