How Perarasu's 'Pazhani' was born

Shakthi Chidambaram, who has produced "Englishkaran', "Kovai Brothers" and "Vyabari" is now producing a new film titled "Pazhani" with Bharat and Kajal Agarwal as the lead characters Kushboo plays the elder sister of Bharat.

Perarasu, who directs the film under the banner of Cinema Paradise, has written the story himself. It centers on the sister's motherly affection for her younger brother. Perarasu's stories are known for expression of affection and sentiments. His "Tirupaachi" was about brother-younger sister sentiments and "Sivakasi" portrayed mother-son sentiments – both were hits.

Chidambaram had already obtained call-sheets from Bharat and was ready with a story for his next film. When he heard Perarasu's story, he was impressed and told Perarasu that Bharat would be best suited for the lead role and they could launch this venture immediately with Bharat. This was how "Pazhani" was born.

In this film, Bharat plays the younger brother of Kushboo. Cast along with them, besides Kajal Agarwal, are Manoj K. Jayan, Aiswarya, Ganja Karuppu, Paramanandam, Ramesh Khanna, Mayilsami and Anumohan. Sekhar V. Josephi is the cinematographer, while Srikanth Deva is the music director. Perarasu says Kushboo playing the role of Bharat's elder sister is a "bonus point" for the film.
