Harris Jayaraj tops with Anniyan

Chennai, July 19 (IANS) Harris Jayaraj really experimented in "Anniyan", a tactic that rarely works. But it has in this case, with his unusual numbers going on to become chartbusters.

The top five Tamil albums are:

1. "Anniyan" (Harris Jayaraj): Harris Jayaraj has judiciously mixed classical and pop in the album, and that is the charm of the album.

2. "Arindum Ariyamalum" (Yuvan Shankar Raja): Every album of Yuvan Shankar Raja is a revelation, and so is this one.

3. "Priyasakhi" (Vidyasagar): Vidyasagar has won this year's National Award. His new album is also climbing the charts.

4. "Oru Naal Oru Kanavu" (Ilayaraja): Though maestro Ilayaraja's "Thiruvasagam" is the most talked-about album now, his film album is also in the top after a long gap.

5. "Adhu Oru Kanaa Kaalam" (Ilaiyaraja): It seems this is the season of the Raja. "Thiruvasagam", "Oru Naal Oru Kanavu" and now "Adhu Oru Kanaa Kaalam"!
