Finally 'Chiyaan' Vikram settles with the title 'Pitha'

It seems like actor Vikram will soon complete his next film 'Pitha', directed by Vijay of 'Madrasapattinam'.

Initially, both the actor and the director were keen on the title 'Deiva Maghan', which was the title of thespian Sivaji Ganesan's yesteryear super hit. At the time, the film was produced under his home banner Sivaji Films and director Vijay tried his utmost to buy the rights from them. But the producers Prabhu and Ram Kumar, sons of the late actor, were unwilling to part with it because they were sentimentally attached to the title. And finally, the makers of the Vikram's film have decided to settle with a new title, 'Pitha' (Father).

In 'Pitha', Vikram has Anushka and Amala Paul to romance. It's based on the Hollywood hit 'I am Sam'. Amala plays Vikram's wife in the flashback and Anushka portrays the lawyer who helps him.
