Elred Kumar plans second release of MUK without cuts

Director Elred Kumar's Muppozhudum Un Karpanaigal starring Atharva and Amala Paul was released recently. But he is not happy as the film was subjected to 32 cuts which robbed it of its effervescence.

He had to agree to the 32 cuts imposed on the film by the Censor Board for the reason that he would get 30 per cent entertainment tax concession extended by the Government to 'U' certificate films. With the 32 cuts MUK was granted 'U'.

But it looks like Elred would not rest till his original version reaches out to the people.

As no tax benefit is available in Andhra Pradesh, he will release the Telugu version of the film without any cuts towards the end of April or in the first week of May.

He feels the original script of MUK got distorted with the 32 cuts.. Moreover, the way the film was made has been affected. So, he is considering the possibility of releasing a second version of MOU in Tamil like the Telugu version without any cuts. "I don't mind the film getting an 'A' certificate this time," he says.
