DNA is the subject of 'Uyir Ezhuthu'

DNA is the subject of a film titled ‘Uyir Ezhuthu’ written and directed by Raja P.S. Shanmugapriya produces the film on behalf of Manav Production.

The film features news faces Rajeev, Sasi and Keerthi. The only known face is comedian Chauums, who plays an important role. Rajeev and Keerthi play the lead roles.

R.P. Gurudev handles the camera. Santosh Narayanan is the music director. Lyrics are by Na. Muthukumar and Muthamizh.

Talking about the film, director Raja says one can know about the traits of a person if his DNA is studied. When he was working in Lagos in South Africa, he had a friend who was working in a DNA laboratory. What his friend revealed to him really surprised him. Then Raja also did a study of DNA. He thought his findings would make an interesting film and decided to take the plunge.

According to him, characters of all human beings can be broadly classified into five categories based on their DNA __ Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta and Omega. Everyone fits into one of these categories. Those with leadership qualities fall under Alpha, those who are basically self-centred under Beta and those who are confused under Gamma. Innocent persons are Omega and those who are generally termed psychos come under the category of Delta. Though everyone aspires to be endowed with leadership qualities (Alpha), the fact is there are very few who quality for it.

Raja says a complex subject will be made easily understood with a strong story. ‘Uyir Ezhuthu’ is about five boys, each representing a DNA category. All the five fall for a girl. Who she chooses and how is the story.
