Daniel Balaji is 'Gnanakirukkan'

Daniel Balaji, who shot to fame post- Gautham Menon’s ‘Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu’, plays the lead role in ‘Gnanakirukkan’ written and directed by Ilayadevan.

Also in the cast are Jagaraj. Sethi, Archana Kavi and Sushmita. S.Selvakumar is the cinematographer. Tajnoor scores the music. The lyrics are by Arivumathi, Na. Muthukumar, Kabilan and Mohanrajan.

Director Ilayadevan says it is a story of a selfless man for whom all are equal and who lives for others unconcerned about himself. Daniel Balaji plays the role of Gnanakirukkan. The film is based on Ilayadevan’s own life experience.

After ‘Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu’ in which he was the antagonist, Daniel Balaji has been getting a variety of roles. He plays the lead roles in director Kamala Kannan’s ‘Marumugam’, Hashim Marikar’s ‘Preview’ and Prasanth Murali’s ‘Paisa Paisa’.
