Bharathiraja plans 'Bommalattam' in English

Film-maker Bharathiraja is considering doing an English remake of his mega hit ‘Bommalattam’. It was made in Hindi titled ‘Cinema’ and in Telugu titled ‘Rana’.

The director is in Theni shooting for ‘Annakodiyum Kodiveeranum’. He may formally announce the project next month.

Sources close to Bharathiraja say that he feels as ‘Bommalattam’ is a thriller, it may do well in Hollywood as well and he has already started making changes to the script to suit the international audience.

It is said some of Bharathiraja’s NRI friends will produce the film in English and they are planning to approach Hollywood actor Samuel L. Jackson to play the lead role. ‘Bommalattam’ had Nana Patekar and Arjun playing a film director and a cop respectively.
