Acting with Kamal an experience, says Pooja Kumar

Actress Pooja Kumar who plays the wife of Kamal Haasan in ‘Vishwaroopam’ is all praise for Kamal. Working with him is quite an experience, she told mediapersons.

Pooja Kumar was born and brought up in the US. She hails from Missouri. She had featured in ad films and stage plays before she made her debut in Tamil through ‘Kadhal Rojave’ in 1997. Later she acted in English and Hindi films.

‘Vishwaroopam’ is her 11th film.

Complimenting Kamal, Pooja Kumar said he is like an institution from whom anyone from around the world can learn. She is stunned by his versatility. He is an actor, director, singer, dancer, lyricist, producer and composer and yet he still strives for excellence; he has a passion to learn. ”I have learnt quite a bit from the gifted artiste. If you ask me to pick the best lesson I have learnt, I would say it’s the need to have a thirst for knowledge. Kamal is a voracious reader, and reading is important for a happy life.”

She said she is a Kathak dancer herself, but kamal’s performance of Kathak in ‘Vishwaroopam’ wowed her. He has had several faces in cinema and his achievement in each one of them is there for all o see. “I cannot forget her experience of acting with him.” A popular notion is that if it is a Kamal film, there would kissing scenes. ‘Vishwaroopam’ has no such scenes. Since it is an action movie, she is not in any dance scene either. Of co-star Andrea, Pooja said she is a talented actress.
