'Aasami' given U/A after appeal against rejection
Jul 23, 2012 PGVAfter its being rejected by the censors, the makers went in appeal to the revising committee of the Central Board of Film Certification. On the committee’s recommendation, the film has been granted an U/A certificate.

A team of censors rejected it out right on the grounds that it wounded Hindu sentiments. The makers then sought a review of the film by a revising committee. The 12-member panel watched the movie and suggested that certain dialogues be removed. After 20 cuts, the film was given an U/A certificate, according to Andal Ramesh.
