`Aarohanam' will have Hindi remake: Lakshmy
Nov 3, 2012 IANS"The discussions are on for a Hindi remake and very soon I will start contemplating on the cast and crew. I plan to make it a commercial entertainer without deviating much from the core of the plot," Lakshmy told IANS.
"Aarohanam" is based on a series of events that take place on a single day. It narrates the story of a 17-year-old boy and his sister's search for their missing mother.
In the Tamil version, Viji Chandrasekhar, who played the mother, was lauded for her performance.
Do you plan to cast a bigger star for the remake?
"Yes, that's the idea and hopefully we want to rope in a popular face. I haven't zeroed in on the star yet but once finalized I will make the official announcement," Lakshmy added.
"Aarohanam" producer A.V. Anoop has expressed interest to produce the film in Hindi as well.
"Yes we plan to make the film in Hindi, but at this juncture everything is in discussion phase. We also plan to collaborate with a bigger studio to distribute the film on a wider scale," Anoop added.
The movie is due to be screened at the Kolkata Film Festival, scheduled to take place this month.
