1400 prints of 'Maattraan' for worldwide release on Oct.12

Eagerly awaited K.V. Anand’s ‘Maattraan’ which has been given a U certificate by the Censor Board, will be releasing worldwide on Oct.12 with over 1400 theatre prints.

The film features Suriya and Kajal Agarwal in the lead. Suriya plays the dual role of conjoined twins, Agilan and Vimalan, each with contrasting characteristics.

No trailer of the film has been released so far. This is just to increase the curiosity about the flick, say sources.

Anand recently tweeted, “Friends, why do you need a theatrical trailer when you can see the film in a week?” TV channels will, however, carry 30-minute teasers.

Speaking at a recent event, Suriya rubbished widespread speculation on social networking sites that ‘Maattraan’ is based on the Hollywood film ‘Stuck on you’. “We have a brilliant team. There is no necessity for us to copy anything from a foreign film,” he said.

Suriya said the story of ‘Maattraan’ had been under discussion for four years since ‘Ayan’. There would have been films based on conjoined twins, but the story of ‘Maattraan’ is different, he affirmed. Click the Movie button below for more info:
