Director Anil and Jayaram are teaming up once again after Anchil Oral Arjunan, to give us Parthan Kanda Paralokam, an entertainer in which Mukesh too is doing a key role. The film, produced by K.B. Madhu under the banner of Screen Cine Entertainment, takes us to a village where lives Parthasarathy, called by everyone as Parthan.

Parthan had turned an atheist after his father's death. He had his education in Gwalior and while there, got associated with the naxalite movement. A strange thing about Parthan is that he has had near-death experiences many a time. Because of this people often refer to him as 'Paralokam Kanda Parthan' meaning "Parthan, who has seen the other world". Parthan is a good-hearted man and always stands for truth and justice. But because of that he also earns quite a few enemies, his own uncle Phalgunan Thampy being one.

Parthan had a strong ally in his close friend Madhavan, who also came from Gwalior. All this and more forms the plot of Parthan Kanda Paralokam, in which Jayaram becomes Parthan and Mukesh does the role of Madhavan. Jagathy Sreekumar becomes Phalgunan Thampy while Sreedevika is the lead lady. Also doing a key role is Sona. The cast also includes Kottayam Nazeer, Salim Kumar, Kalabhavan Mani, Narayanan Nair, Chali Pala, Shobha Mohan etc.

Parthan Kanda Paralokam is scripted by Rajan Kiriyath who has given us many light-entertainers in the past. M. Jayachandran sets lyrics by Kaithapram to tune. Anandakuttan is in charge of cinematography while P.C. Mohanan does the editing and Balu looks after art-direction. The film is currently in progress on locations in and around Palakkad. Jayaram is banking heavily on the film, which could help boost his sagging career, which at present is at an all-time low.
