Dileep and team take 'Inspector Garud' to the top

Kochi, Feb 7 (IANS) The list of top Malayalam films has undergone a total transformation this fortnight with three new films entering the chart. Dileep starrer "Inspector Garud" leads the pack.

The top five Malayalam films are:

1. "Inspector Garud" - Actor Dileep unites with his favourite team of director Johnny Antony and writers Siby K. Thomas and Uday Krishna in this comedy.

2. "Maayavi" - Mammootty was seen in a series of serious films in the last few months. He ends the trend with this entertainer directed by Shafi and written by Rafi-Mecartin team.

3. "Kaiyoppu" - Director Ranjith tells the story of a writer's block effectively. Mammootty is successful in giving the character a lifelike feel.

4. "Baba Kalyani" - Director Shaji Kailas and star Mohanlal succeed once again in this thriller.

5. "Changathipoocha" - Debutant director S.P. Mahesh tries to revive the career of young actor Jayasurya in this comedy.
