Collector rolls

Collector, the latest Suresh Gopi-starrer, directed by Anil C. Menon, has started rolling in Kochi. The film, which is produced under the banner of A Cube, has Suresh Gopi playing a daring, honest and duty-conscious district collector who spares no effort to bring to book corrupt bureaucrats, exposing their corruptions before the public in the process.

Collector is the second film in which Anil C. Menon and Suresh Gopi are teaming up together (the first being Rashtram) and it is Rajesh Jayaraman who is penning the script for the film. This is the third Suresh Gopi film scripted by Rajesh Jayaraman, a recent entrant into Malayalam Cinema. He had earlier scripted the Shaji Kailas-directed Suresh Gopi-starrer Time and is also the scenarist of Boot, yet another Shaji Kailas-Suresh Gopi flick, which has already been shot (in just 22 days) and is getting ready for release.

Mohini, who had been away for quite some time, makes a comeback with Collector while the cast also features Murali, Nedumudi Venu, Anil Adityan, Kalasala Babu, Balachandran Chullikad, Megha, Sukumari, Kaviyoor Ponnamma, Rajeev, Baburaj, Krishnakumar etc. Manoj Paramahamsa cranks the camera for the venture, which features lyrics by Gireesh Puthencherry and Sudhanshu, music by K. Reghukumar, art-direction by Joseph Nellikkal and editing by Manoj. The film is progressing in full-swing and reportedly has all ingredients that go into the making of a Suresh Gopi brand of action flick.
