'Campus' songs rock Kerala

Kochi, Oct 19 (IANS) Songs of "Chocolate" dominate the fortnight's popularity chart in Malayalam cinema. The top five songs are:

1. "Chocolate" - Film: "Chocolate", music director: Alex Paul, lyrics: Sarath Varma, singers: M.G. Sreekumar and Rimi Tomi. This is a typical campus song that has become a hit among youngsters.

2. "Pranayasandhaya" - Film: "Ore Kadal", music director: Ousepachan, lyrics: Gireesh Puthencherry, singer: Bombay Jayashree. Beautifully rendered by Bombay Jayashree, the song has grabbed listeners' attention.

3. "Istamalle" - Film: "Chocolate", music director: Alex Paul, lyrics: Sarath Varma, singer: Shahabas Aman. A romantic song from the campus caper makes it to the list.

4. "Kolakuzhal" - Film: "Naivedhyam", music director: M. Jayachandran, lyrics: Lohithadas, singers: Vijay Yesudas and Swetha. The song with Krishna-Radha imagery also keeps its place on the charts.

5. "Thirike" - Film: "Arabikatha", music director: Bijibal, lyrics: Anil Panachooran, singer: Yesudas. Like the film, the song too remains popular.
