Campus song of 'Classmates' tops Malayalam charts

Kochi, Nov 3 (IANS) The songs of popular film "Classmates" continue to dominate this list.

The top five Malayalam songs are:

1. "Ente kalbile" - Film: "Classmates"; Music: Alex Paul; Lyrics: Sarath Varma; Singers: Sujatha and Vineeth Sreenivasan. Nostalgia rules and this song celebrating campus life tops the list yet once again.

2. "Vave makane" - Film: "Pothen Vava"; Music: Alex Paul; Lyrics: Sarath Varma; Singers: Madhu Balakrishnan and Usha Uthup. We see Usha Uthup in a full-length role in this film and her song is an added bonus.

3. "Kaattadi" - Film: "Classmates"; Music: Alex Paul: Lyrics: Sarath Varma; Singers: Vidhu Prathap, Reju Joseph, Ramesh Babu and Cicily. A campus song with a lilting melody is rare. This song falls into that category.

4. "Nerane" - Film: "Pothen Vava"; Music: Alex Paul: Lyrics: Sarath Varma: Singers: Madhu Balakrishnan, Afsal and Manjari. The song combines the folk and the classical with soulful lyrics.
