Banares: In search of one's roots!

Art-director-turned-director Nemom Pushparaj, who made his directorial debut with Gowrishankaram, is on to his second film as a director.

The film, Banaras, which is already on the roll, narrates the story of a young man who is in search of his roots. Hari travels to Banaras to do research in folk dances. But he has another intention too, to go searching for his roots in that holy city.

Vineeth plays Hari while Kavya Madhavan does the female lead role, essaying a key character named Amritha. Also in the cast are Harisri Ashokan, Jagathy Sreekumar, Nedumudi Venu, Suraaj Venjaramoodu, Devan, Anoop Chandran, Bindu Panicker, Urmila Unni etc. Produced by M.R. Nair under the banner of Kasi Films, the film is currently being shot in Banaras, after which it will shift to Thiruvananthapuram. M.R. Nair also pens the story, with script being penned by Cheriyan Kalpakavadi.
