War of stars mars 'Aaaptha Mitha' fest

Bangalore, Nov 27 (IANS) A stand-off between two Kannada film stars is dampening first anniversary celebrations of the phenomenal box-office success, "Aaptha Mithra".

"I will not be foolish enough to organise a big function to mark the anniversary my film "Aaptha Mithra" without ensuring the presence of its lead actor Vishnuvardhan," said the film's producer Dwarakish, who is also a reputed director and actor.

Film industry sources, however, say that the differences between Vishnuvardhan and Dwarakish, who also acted in the film, are too serious to have them together in any celebrations.

A celebration was organised earlier by Vishnuvardhan and the film's director, Vasu. Though Dwarakish was invited, he did not attend the function.

Sources say Dwarakish considers "Aaptha Mithra" his brainchild, though the film's hero and the director have dominated the continuing anniversary festivities.
