Bangalore, March 18 (IANS) Sudha Murthy, trustee of the Infosys Foundation, gave "perfect shots" for the Kannada film "Prarthane", her first film role, says director Sadhashiva Shenoy.

"Everything went off perfectly. Ms. Sudha Murthy gave perfect shots for all the sequences which were cleared in one or two takes," said the first-time director.

Murthy, the wife of Infosys co-founder N.R. Narayana Murthy, had a one day shooting schedule and she wrapped it up here Wednesday. She will feature in the last few sequences of the movie.

"Prarthane" focuses on the primacy to Kannada language and culture and also showcases the way Kannada is receiving a raw deal in the times of economic reforms.

Shenoy says Murthy was initially reluctant to act, but he was able to convince her by narrating the script.

"Ms. Sudha Murthy will be playing an ambassador promoting the Kannada language and culture. She has always stood for promoting Kannada and that is exactly what she will do in the role offered to her in the film. She said she will be doing the role without make up," he said.

The film also stars award winning artists Anant Nag, Pavithra Lokesh and Prakash Raj.

Earlier, Murthy had acted in the Kannada television serial "Preethi Illada Mele". She has also written books in Kannada which have been translated in several languages.

A couple of her stories and novels have been made into serials in Kannada as well as Hindi.
