angalore, Nov 10 (IANS) With his recent box-office returns not reflecting his popularity, Kannada actor Sudeep's hopes for a revival rest on his Diwali release "Nalla".

Sudeep's acting credentials are unquestionable, having won three Filmfare awards.

Veteran producer K.C.N. Chandrashekhar, returning to films after a gap of many years, told IANS that the high entertainment and emotional value of his new film will ensure its success.

Chandrashekhar said the film's music by Ram-Narayan was released a few days ago and is gaining popularity. Two of the songs, "Machcha dav andre" and "Malagu malagu Mudhdhu Mari", have become instant hits.

"Half the battle is won when the audio is good and I am sure that the film will be equally, if not more, successful at the box office," says writer-turned-director Nagendra Prasad, who has written over 600 songs.

Sudeep, who excels in emotional parts, is paired with award-winning multilingual actress Sangeetha in a role of parallel importance. Actress Mumthaaz plays a glamorous character with a sacrificial angle that will please the audience.

The talented Sudeep has also given breaks to many directorial aspirants. First-time director Prasad is thrilled over his directorial experience and says that post-production work has increased his confidence.

Prasad said the story took shape over a period of three years. The idea of directing the film came to him while discussing it with Sudeep.

"Nalla's" fate not only will decide Prasad's future as a director but its success will also re-establish Sudeep's image in the industry as a lucky mascot.
