Kannada film industry’s young energetic actor Sudeep is always appreciated for doing variety of roles so early in his career. He has a penchant for experimentation which was seen in accepting a challenge to do “Swathi Muththu’, a remake of Kamala Hassan’s Telugu Hit. Though he is enjoying a healthy rate of success recently , he has decided not to immerse in the world of stereo type and work for something unusual. He has decided to direct a film. He will be directing a film for the first time in his six year career. Come April 19, his new film “Nanna Autograph’ will be rolled and for the first time Sudeep will be behind the camera giving instructions to his artists and technicians working with him. He will also do the pivotal role in the film.

Many people in the Kannada film industry did believe that Sudeep will definitely branch out to direction, but observers feel that his decision to direct `Nanna Autograph’ has come a little too early. He has won the Best Actor state award for his performance in “Nandi’ followed up by three continuous Best Actor Filmfare awards. He is enjoying a better rate of success these days what with all his recent films like “Nalla’, “Maharaja’ and the recently released “Kashi’ doing well in the Box office. But however it is too well known that Sudeep decides on his own and he has always demonstrated his independent streak of mind many a times. “Nanna Autograph’ is the remake of Cheran directed Tamil Hit ‘Autograph’ released last year which went on to become a huge hit along with winning many prestigious awards. .

Sudeep had earlier planned to direct the remake of Tamil Hit “Khaakka Khaakka’ and had even purchased the rights from the film’s producer Kalaipuli Dhanu. But he had to postpone his decision because it was rumoured that many Kannada films had lifted important sequences from the film.
