'Srushti' based on real-life incident
Nov 1, 2004 IANS Nov 1It has Nagendra Prasad and Vinod Prabhakar in the lead roles. The film will introduce Bangalore-based model Priyadarshini as the heroine.
Nagendra, younger brother of dancing star Prabhu Deva, has already acted in three Kannada films, including the hugely successful "Chithra".
Vinod, who has so far played only action roles, will be seen for the first time in a sentimental one.
Director Basavaraju, who has worked with veterans like Kashinatha, Dwarakish and Rajashekhar, says he has based the story on an incident narrated to him by a friend.
"The incident was real and may happen to any one of us. The story has an element of sacrifice. I have also added some commercial ingredients to make it attractive to the masses," he said.
The film has three fight sequences and six visually appealing song sequences. The music by S.A. Raj Kumar will be a highlight of the film.
"Though the film ends on a tragic note, it will have a comedy sub-plot featuring Sibi Kahi Chandu and Dingri Nagaraj," said Basavaraju.
Producer Kumaraswamy, the owner of a theatre in Hospet, said: "The delay in the film's production has caused a cost overrun. Even then, I am hopeful of recovering my investment."
The film has been shot in the Kalagooru tea estate of Chickmagalur district and in many outdoor locations in Bangalore.
