Soori started off as a script writer of Kannada films. He had his moorings in Kannada theatre and then in the television world where he worked with directors like B.Suresha and Yogaraj Bhat. Then he worked as a dialogue writer for the film 'Mani'. Then he wrote the script and dialogues for Sudeep starred 'Ranga S.S.L.C.'. He also worked as an associate director to director Sadhu Kokila in the film 'Suntaragaali' which featured Darshan and Rakshitha. 'Duniya' launched Soori as a director and now with the film turning out to be a block buster he has become a director who is much in demand in the industry.

Now Soori is busy scripting his second directorial venture. He will be directing his next film for producer Rockline Venkatesh. Srinagara Kitty will be the hero of this film. The film is all set to start shooting in the first week of June.
