Shilpa Shetty in Upendra Film

Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty is working with Super Star Upendra in the film "Auto Shankar" produced by Ramu Films and directed by D.Rajendra Babu. She plays the role of a money lender shark who exploits the poor and lower middle class people by lending them and in the process charging usurious rates of interest. She also threatens and humiliates the loan beneficiaries if they do not pay their loans properly. Upendra plays the good Samaritan who fights with Shilpa Shetty to protect the interests of the poor.

Shilpa Shetty says she had accepted the role because though it has some negative shades, there was a great opportunity for her to show her talents. "It is like reinventing myself in this role, as in my earlier two Kannada films I have just played lover girl role. They were nothing special, but for some exciting dance sequences. But this film is certainly different" says Shilpa Shetty about her role in "Auto Shankar".
