'Sevanthi...' bestselling Kannada album

Bangalore, Aug 12 (IANS) Songs of "Sevanthi Sevanthi" were a big hit even before the film's release and now the album has become a bestseller along with being the box-office hit.

The top five Kannada albums are:

1. "Sevanthi Sevanthi" - The secret of the album's success lies in the new tunes, which S.A. Raj Kumar has styled on popular folk songs. "Jaaji mallige hoovu" rendered by Vijaya Raghavendra is the top number.

2. "Aishwarya" - Music director Rajesh Ramanath has hit it off with peppy tunes. Upendra has written and sung one of the songs. The title track rendered by Kunal Ganjawala, "Hudugi hudugi" and "Ella ok maduve yaake" have become chartbusters.

3. "Neenello Naanalle" - The album, which was already doing well, has received a further boost from the film's success. Except "Sankranthi, sankranthi" sung by S.P. Balasubramanyam, all the other tunes have been lifted from Telugu hit "Nuvvosthanante Nenoddantaana".

4. "Kumara Rama" - Music director Guru Kiran has opted for folk tunes for this historical film, which released just a few days back. "Gini Rama" has already become a hit and "Sarasake baaro sarasarane" promises to be in the same league.

5. "Mohini 9886788888" - Composer Hamsalekha has returned with a bang with this album. "Ranga ranga dingara ranga" and "Preethiyalli naanu lucky kane" are the top numbers.
