Rakshita to tie the knot in March

Bangalore, Feb 15 (IANS) Popular Kannada actress Rakshita is set to tie the knot with director Prem here March 9.

Talking to the media here, along with her would-be husband, Rakshita said they got engaged March 16 last year, without much publicity.

The wedding will take place at the Mahalakshmi Kalyana Mantap in the city's Rajarajeshwari Nagar.

Prem is being launched as a hero in "Preethi Yeke Bhoomi Melidhe" which will also star Rakshita. The film is being produced by Ashwini Ram Prasad, who had earlier made the hugely successful "Jogi", directed by Prem.

The director said their companionship that started just after the release of "Jogi" turned into love.

"Then we thought of the marriage, but I had decided to work for "Preethi Yeke Bhoomi Melidhe". The wedding date was decided mutually by both of us and also elders in the family," said Prem.

Rakshita also said she would not work in films after her marriage and "Preethi Yeke Bhoomi Melidhe" will be her last movie.

She acted in several Kannada, Telugu and Tamil films with top stars like Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Vijay, Mahesh Babu, Puneet Raj Kumar, Darshan, Sudeep and Ravi Teja.
