Raaj will be released by May end
Apr 28, 2009 RGVTalking to the Chitraloka portal, Sreenivasa Murthy confirmed that the re-recording work of the film has started on April 18 and the shooting of the two songs of the film will end by May 10.
"By the time the shooting part of two songs in Canada are completed, we would be finishing our post production work almost completely. We would be ready with the first print by May 20 or 22nd. I am sure the film will be released by May end as we have even marked the theatres for the release of this film," says Murthy.
Pooh poohing the rumours that were spreading in the Kannada film industry that the film may get released in August or precisely on the Mahalakshmi Festival day, Murthy said that he is not prepared to keep his prints for two to three months just to plan his release on a festival day.
"I have spent a huge amount on this film and the film would cost me around Rs. 9 to Rs. 10 crores by the time I take the prints of the film. Do you think I will add up the interest cost to such a huge capital cost by delaying the release by another two months," asks Sreenivasa Murthy.
Murthy said that, that Raaj will be released only after Raam for which Puneet is presently shooting for, is an utterly laughable proposition. "As far as I know, there is still shooting left for three songs and a few fight sequences for Raam. Even for the Talkie portions patch work needs to be done. The dates for this part of the shooting has not yet been finalised yet. Puneet and Nisha Kothari along with Prem will be going to Canada in the last week of April to shoot the songs of Raaj. We have finished the dubbing work of our film and re-recording has also begun. Take it from me, I would release the film definitely on May 29 or the first week of June and not anytime later," says an assertive Sreenivasa Murthy. Click the Movie button below for more info:
