The Kannada film producers have decided to constitute a high power committee which includes representatives from various sections of the film industry to hammer out solutions to any existing and recurring problems of the industry.

In a meeting of the producers held recently, the producers however decided to maintain the status quo and not start production activities for new films which have been stopped a fortnight ago. A range of subjects including the vexed issue of a high degree of exposure to non Kannada films, sky rocketing artists remuneration and also increased bata charges of the cine workers were discussed in the meeting, sources said. Some of the producers had also felt that wider consultations with the TV Channels are also needed as the TV Channels are using the film software in many programmes and only one channel is purchasing films as of now.

Sandesh Nagaraj, the President of the Kannada Producers Association however presents a rosy picture and claimed that there was unity among the film producers and there was no cause for split or dissatisfaction. Talking to the press after the conclusion of the Monday meeting, Sandesh said that KFCC Producers wing was represented by its vice president Sa.Ra.Govindoo, secretary B.N.Gangadhar had participated in the meeting and the producers are now united.
