Premism role has different shades: Amoolya
Jul 15, 2009 RGVThe actress has been busy shooting for her third Kannada film Premism directed by Rathnaja since then and has to take a long leave from College in this month.
"We will be shooting for a month long schedule for the film in Belgaum and I am making preparations for the shoot," says the ever smiling actress whose first film created her thousands of fans around the state. The Amoolya craze was so deep that many Autorickshaw drivers embossed her photographs on their vehicles with the caption Aishu, I Love you. Amoolya played the role of a 16 year old girl Aishwarya in the film.
"Now, I am having some experience of the college life. But I think I still have the feeling of going to school though I need not wear the uniforms and take lunch boxes," says Amoolya.
She has just become eligible to vote, but Amoolya feels that she is still being treated as a kid.
"Director Rathnaja sir teaches me everything from the way I have to tell the dialogues to the way I have to be expressive through my eyes and body language. Even Narayan sir wanted me to just act as he had briefed me. Before signing Premism, I was little worried whether I would be stuck up with my image of Cheluvina Chiththaara which was a huge hit. That is because even the role in my second film Chaithradha Chandrama had also carried the similar characterization. But Rathnaja told me the entire story and I felt little comfortable. This character in Premism does not have any shades of my two previous films. This is like experimenting with a new character," says Amoolya.
Talking about the experience of working in a film after a long break of nearly one year (She is often described in the film industry as a Holiday artist because she works only during the summer vacations), Amoolya says that working with Rathnaja and his team for nearly thirty days in the first schedule was a great experience.
"I really liked the title itself. The 'ism' which has been part of the title is itself a big attraction. I am very well presented in this film. We shot some songs and also important sequences in Mysore. Now, I am excited to meet my fans in Belgaum for the second schedule because both my films ran very well in that city," she adds.
How did her college administration react to her working in films? "I had told my College principal that I may have to work in this film as I had committed earlier. They told me that I would be encouraged if I take up some good movies that would bring credit to me and the college. I would go by that yardstick to accept my future films," says Amoolya.
