Bangalore, July 12 (IANS): Ashok Patil, a US-based software engineer, is directing "Joke Falls" - a remake of Hrishikesh Mukherjee's hit Bollywood comedy "Chupke Chupke' that had Dharmendra and Amitabh Bachchan.

Actor Ramesh Arvind, who has just completed shooting for Tamil film "Kadhal Oru Desiya Geetham", will star in "Joke Falls".

Ashok, the brother of actor-politician B.C. Patil, had earlier directed the award-winning "Shaapa", which also had Ramesh in the leading role.

"Joke Falls" has Deepali, who is also from the US, as the heroine. Deepali's first Kannada film, "Nanna Preethiya Hudugi", directed by Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar, was a silver-jubilee hit.

Shwetha Menon, who enacts item numbers and roles of vamps in Hindi films, will be doing her first meaty role in this film. Incidentally, she also did an item number in the successful Kannada film, "Gokarna", with Upendra in the lead.

Now, she will be playing the second heroine in the film "Onkaara", also with Upendra in the lead, to be directed by Shivamani.
