No solution visible for the film industry crisis
Oct 11, 2006 RGVThe meeting which was expected to find a solution to the present crisis leading to stopping of production activities of new films may not take place at all since the Kannada film producers association is unwilling to attend the meeting with the present executive committee whose term is expiring on October 28.
Though the producers had agreed to attend the meeting earlier and had even indicated their acceptance in an earlier communication, the change in their game plan has come as a surprise to the President of the film chamber.
Gangaraj said that he had immediately telephoned Sandesh Nagaraj, President of the KPA who however said that he would be visiting the KFCC on Wednesday to discuss some issues with the President.
In a separate meeting the KPA has decided to talk with the new committee of the KFCC which means that they have lost confidence with the present committee. The elections to the KFCC have been fixed on October 28 and the new committee is expected to take charge on October 29. In this scenario, the KPA has decided to continue the stoppage of activities of new films for one more month.
