'Mungaru Male' marches on to 100-day mark
Mar 9, 2007 R.G. VijayasarathyThe top five Kannada films are:
1."Mungaru Male" - With each passing week, the film's collections are moving up. "Mungaru Male" is expected to complete 100 days in several centres where Kannada films normally run for only four to five weeks. Even now, the film is going houseful.
2."Duniya" - The film by debutant director Sunil with an all-new cast is into its second week, but promises to become a massive hit. It has done better than star-studded films like "Bhoopathy" and "Thaayiya Madilu".
3."Jothe Jotheyalli" - This family entertainer is into its silver-jubilee week and has been getting record-breaking collections in several centres in the interior. The film has turned out to be a money-spinner for actor-producer Darshan.
4."Arasu" - With Puneet Raj Kumar in the lead, "Arasu" had a fantastic opening but was not able to sustain its appeal. However, the collections have been good in Bangalore theatres.
5."Parodi" - This Upendra starrer, directed by Sai Prakash, did well initially but trade pundits predict a big drop in collections soon.
