Leelavathi is producing 'Kannadadha Kanda'

She has already acted in over 600 films, a majority of them in Kannada and some in Tamil. Her notable Tamil film includes a film in which she played Super Star Rajnikanth's mother. She had acted as a heroine to Kannada Movie icon Dr. Raj Kumar in more than twenty five films and has been a mother, grand mother to many heroes of present and past. That is Veteran actress Leelavathi who is known for her lively acting on screen. Now, she is presently fighting a big battle of her life. She wants to establish the career of her son Vinod Raj had a bumpy ride so far in Kannada Films, and this time Leelavathi feels it is a now or never situation.

Leelavathi is producing the film ''Kannadadha Kanda" in which her son Vinod Raj plays an important role. It is a make or break film for Vinod Raj. She has launched a new production unit, opens a distribution office, opened an audio cassette company and has also written the story of the film she is producing and has also acted in an important role in the film.

The audio cassette and CD of the film was recently released amidst much fanfare. The music composition of the film is done by Gurunath, who is a childhood friend to Vinod Raj. Gurunath was a music conductor earlier and it is his first stint in music direction. He had in fact played a child artist role in ''Gammaththu Goodachaarlu" which was directed by Singeetham Sreenivasa Rao. According to Gurunath, 85 musicians have been used for the film and the music is very good. He also said Vinod Raj who is himself a good singer has sung two songs for the film.
