The newly constituted members of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce headed by its President Ms. Jayamala had met the Karnataka Chief Minister B.S.Yediyurappa with its charter of demands to be considered before the presentation of the Budget on 17th July. It is a normal practice for the KFCC to present a set of demands to the Chief Minister a few days before the presentation of the budget.

Sources from the KFCC said that the demands included the request for an increase in subsidy amount to all Kannada films except the remake films and films having excess violence and sex. And it has requested the state government to remove the restrictions to remake films for getting a hundred percent exemption and wants all Kannada films to be fully exempted from tax. The rider is that remake films should also have strong native content.

The state government has been requested to extend all the help to the Kannada film industry which has plans to celebrate the platinum jubilee in a grand scale. It also wants encouragement for production of children's films and women oriented films by allotment of a subsidy amount of Rs. 25 lacs. All the nationally and internationally recognised films should also be given a subsidy of Rs. 25 lacs, the KFCC has demanded.
