Karnataka state awards function on Jan 23

The state film awards function will be held at Bagalkot on Tuesday January 23. The state information directorate officials who had recently visited Bagalkot for an on the spot survey have been completely satisfied with the preparations that are going on for the awards function.


The state film awards will certainly memorable for the Kannada film fans of the North Karnataka region as they will be able to see Ravichandran and Shivaraj Kumar-the two top stars of the Kannada film industry who are very popular in the region-in the same rostrum in a government function. While Ravichandran will receive the prestigious Puttanna Kanagal Award, the Best actor award has gone to Shivaraj Kumar for his performance in 'Jogi'. This will be one of the rare awards functions which will also see the presence of Child prodigy Master Kishan who has entered into the Guinness record books as the youngest film director to have directed the film. Internationally acclaimed director Girish Kasaravalli and Best Actress award winner Pavithra Lokesh will be representing the 'Naayi Neralu' team which has won the Best film award. However, Actor Jaggesh who has won the Best Supporting actor award has already rejected the award.
